New U.S. Field Directors

Dear U.S. Navigator Staff and Laborers,

Thank you for your faithful prayer for the work of the Transition Team. This past week, the Transition Team met in a spirit of prayer and seeking God. One of the significant tasks was to identify the people God has selected to direct our U.S. Field work forward.

I am pleased to announce to you that God led quite clearly and that the Transition Team has given 100 percent affirmation to the team of three that God identified to serve in new roles directing our Field work.

The three U.S. Field directors are: Marvin Campbell, Mike Jordahl, and Tom Yeakley. These three will serve together in leading the overall Field Ministry of The U.S. Navigators. Please pray for them as they transition out of their current duties, and begin to wade into these new roles and opportunities to contribute to our Calling. All three of these leaders will serve on the NLT and will report directly to me.

Marvin Campbell (see photo), as a U.S. Field director, will give oversight to and ensure collaborative partnering of the Launching ministry sphere. The Launching sphere contains our ministries to those who are in the launching season of life—college students, military personnel and families, and people in their 20s. It is the sphere in which much of the raising up of our laborers begins.

Mike Jordahl, as a U.S. Field director, will give oversight to and ensure the collaborative partnering of the Lifelong Laborers ministry sphere. The Lifelong Laborers sphere will be where those currently in our Metro Mission and Church Discipleship Ministry will serve. It is where much of our developing and empowering of laborers takes place.

Tom Yeakley, as a U.S. Field director, will give oversight to and ensure collaborative partnering of the Nations ministry sphere. The Nations sphere is where NavMissions, International Student Ministries, and initiatives to immigrant populations in the U.S. will serve. It is where much of our sending of laborers into cross-cultural settings occurs.

In addition to the affirmation of these three leaders, the Transition Team also has affirmed a new leadership role for Lindy Black.

There is still design work to be developed and implemented in the Lifelong Laborers sphere. Mike Jordahl, along with Marvin and Tom, will give focused attention to the completion of this work. They will work together with members of the Transition Team and leaders from Metro and CDM to finish the construction of the new design. We appreciate your prayers and patience as these transitions take place over the next few months.

We believe God has uniquely prepared each of these leaders to serve in their new roles.

In the coming days, we will be sending you further information about the results of the Transition Team work. Our goal throughout this entire process has been to enhance the ability of The Navigators to advance the Gospel of Jesus and His Kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost. Please pray with me that God will continue to bless our work in fulfilling this Calling.

With you, trusting,

Doug Nuenke
U.S. Director, for the Transition Team
