Eugene & Diane Burrell Navigator Representative - DC

Howard Univesity & Urban Washington, DC

Eugene recalls meeting Jesus in 1966 and being burdened to take the Gospel back to young thugs he used to run the streets with in Washington, D.C. Although he faithfully shared Jesus with his friends, everything changed once he attended his first Navigator rally while he served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

“They were talking about multiplying your life,” Eugene explains. “When they explained one-on-one discipleship and how one person over the span of 40-50 years can reach a large number of people, I recognized that’s what my people needed—some hands on, grass roots, ‘let’s get into your stuff’ type of discipleship. That’s why I wanted to learn it, filet it, massage it, and bring it home.”

Today, Eugene and his wife, Diane, can look back on more than 40 years with The Navigators—40 years of “getting into people’s stuff.”
