For decades, The Navigators AFAM conferences have had a major impact on the lives of growing disciples. Solid, challenging, biblical teaching—with an emphasis on personal application—has been a key part of these life-changing events from the very beginning.

Now, even long after a conference, you can still reap the benefits of these timeless messages that will challenge you “to Know Christ and to Make Him Known.”

Eddie has been on staff with The Navigators since 1980 and now serves as the International Vice President on The Navigators International Executive Team. His responsibilities include influencing and nurturing the Navigator ministry culture, helping lead the International Executive Team, and championing ethnic diversity. Eddie also holds a Masters degree in New Testament from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He and his wife, Barbie, live in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Held in Cleveland, Ohio, The Navigator AFAM Network-sponsored event was co-hosted by Pastor Kevin James and the New Community Bible Fellowship. The Navigators helped to register 426 eager attendees including 111 from the host church; 153 students from 16 schools and 163 Navigator staff and laborers from across the country.
The purpose and theme was to “IGNITE a Movement of Disciple-Makers” among African-Americans in the church, on campus, in urban and suburban settings, among military personnel, and in the marketplace. Congress messages include “Reaching the Marketplace for Christ,” “Reconciliation in a Racially Divided Society,” “Effective Discipleship in the Urban Church,” “Discipleship: A Movement of Life-Change in the Military,” and “Transforming Urban Communities Through Discipleship.”

Special Thanks to:

The 2012 National AFAM Congress on Discipleship convened on March 8th-10th at the Four Points by Sheraton BWI Airport Hotel. The 2012 AFAM Congress was by far more than just a conference. It was history. Topping out at 423 in attendance, registrar Mike Slone says that more than half of those attending the Congress were students. Some came from campuses that do not even have Navigator ministries. This was truly an encouraging and powerful time in the Lord where speakers "Prepared People to Go."

It is our hope that the audio files of the AFAM Congress 2012 will energize your ministry raising up laborers who will advance the Gospel next door to everywhere.
